Previewing your test during the design phase is essential to ensure everything works as expected. TestInvite offers a dedicated preview feature that lets you experience the test from a test-taker's perspective, helping you verify layout, navigation, time limits, and logic settings before the test is published.
Where to find it: Tests → Select a test → Preview Test (bottom left menu)
And choose between two modes:
Select preview mode.
Test mode
Simulates a real test-taking experience. No feedback is shown during the test.
Test mode interface.
Use this mode to test flow, restrictions, and time settings just as a participant would experience them.
Practice mode
Provides instant feedback after each page submission.
This includes:
Correct and incorrect answers
Feedback content configured per question
Practice mode interface.
This mode is useful for checking educational value, feedback mechanisms, and instructional content.
What to check during preview
Use the preview environment to validate the following:
Time limits applied at test, section, or page level
Navigation settings and movement restrictions between pages or sections
Ordering of sections, pages, questions, and answer choices
Randomization settings (shuffling of questions/pages)
Tools and extras like calculator, on-screen keyboard, progress bar
Previewing allows you to catch misconfigurations before launching a live test, saving time and improving test quality.
Preview your test after each major configuration change to ensure all conditions function correctly. This is especially important when working with complex logic, adaptive content, or mixed navigation rules.
